Hello-I recently built a pc for running my oo2 rack (about 4 months ago). I'm running Windows XP Pro (SP2), PTLE 7 (002 rack came w/6.9, i qualified for free upgrade to 7). Here's a list of what's inside (I used these forums for guidance)- -ASUS A8V Deluxe VIA K8T800 Pro ATX -AMD Athlon 64 3700+ San Diego 1GHz FSB 1MB L2 Cache Socket 939 Processor -Kingston ValueRAM 1GB (2 x 512MB) 184-Pin DDR SDRAM Unbuffered DDR 400 (PC 3200) -RADEON 9600 SE 128MB DDR AGP 4X/8X -COOLER MASTER eXtreme Power RS-430-PMSR/P Max: 400W, Peak: 430W -NEC Model No. ND 3540A DVD Burner -LITE-ON ATAPI/E-IDE DVD ROM Model SOHD-16P9S Black -Seagate 160 GB IDE HD Now so far, PT has been running very smoothly(even though I'm only running one HD for now)-but I am having major problems with burning CD's OR DVD's. Here's what's weird-Data discs open and read properly, audio discs open and playback properly through windows media player or Nero, but I have yet to make a successful burn with Nero or WMP-be it data or audio, to cds or dvds. Oh, don't let me forget to mention that whenever I put a DVD movie in either drive, you can hear the drive start to read the disc, then it stops and the computer reboots continuously. Now I have already done some google research on the continuous reboot, nothings helped. Can it be because I have WMP, Nero and Intervideo WinDVD conflicting? Is a setting for PTLE causing the problem? Can anyone please offer me any guidance??? I really don't want to start all over again, has anyone else experienced any of these symptoms? Thanks in advance!

I'm with EJ, get another hard drive. Meanwhile, turn off AutoPLay on the CD/DVD drives and check to see if they are enabled for audio. I think you will find those selections by right-clicking on the drive icon and select properties.

Yes, ej, I know-but do you really think this is the cause of my problem? Thanks to all for the advice so far, I'll try disabling auto play and see if I can find where it says if they're enabled for audio. (crosses fingers)

Now when you say enabled for audio, do you mean the 'check here for digital audio playback' button? It is currently checked for digital playback. Also, I don't think auto-play is enabled ( I am prompted to select an action each time I put a disc in the drive). I flashed the bios of my LITE-ON dvd-rom, and now it won't even see any disc I put in the drive!!! HEEEEEELLLLLLLLLLP!!!
