hi all, i'm relevantly new to backing up blu-ray movies. i've had my blu-ray drive since xmas and have yet to back up a disc because i keep reading stuff and i keep finding out new things, and therefore i've always got questions to ask. sorry if this is in the wrong section... first off i have backed up a blu-ray movie to my HD, thus creating a blu-ray folder which is 45gb in size. after trying to take out everything i dont need using tsmuxer the file size was still 26.6gb. then after reading more post i found out that lots of you convert them to mpeg4 which correct me if i'm wrong is a lot smaller in size? the big question is, is it the same in quality? because when i looked at the file in BDinfo it says it is a mpeg-4 AVC video,, and this got me thinking. IF it is the same quality in picture and audio how do i go about doing it? can anyone point to a guide? oh and 1 more thing, when using tsmuxer, would changing the output from blu-ray to ts or m2ts or demux, which by the way what is DEMUX? i know its a lot but i'm sure you went through this when you got started. thanks!!!

Converting from MPEG4 AVC to MPEG4 ASP would make the file larger, not smaller. Demux means to split the audio and video into files of their own, called elementary streams. What exactly are you trying to do here?

trying to get my head round everything, there seems to be so many ways of doing this i think i'm getting half of one way and half of another lol. basically i want to rip a blu ray movie and burn it onto a blu ray disc or a dl dvd disc IF the quality is exactly the same. i have the movie on hd using anyDVDhd, i have deleted the extra's i dont want using TsMuxer. then i outputted it as "create blu-ray disk" the movie was still over 25gb. then i changed the output to "DEMUX" this created a 25.2gb folder. so in a nut shell how do i get just the movie and audio onto a blu-ray disk? then i also read about putting them onto a dl dvd, how do people manage this when i'm having trouble fitting it onto a 25gb disk? one more thing, why is the file size bigger out putting it as a blu-ray disc than it is put putting it as demux? and whats the next step with a demux folder? i appreciate your help...
