If you don't need the midi tracks at all, inactivate them. Just muting and hiding them won't free up any more of the 32 tracks you're allowed. If you inactivate them, it will. If you inactive them, you'll still have quite a few tracks to work with, you should be fine. Even you start running out of free tracks, start submixing. [/QUOTE] Pro Tools LE/M-Powered lets you run 32 mono/16 stereo tracks, 256 MIDI tracks and 32 Instrument tracks as standard. Aux's and Master tracks do not use voices. Freeing up the MIDI tracks as you suggest in this case will not give you anymore voices for audio....Make sense? So in answer to the original posters question; yes send your session over and it will be fine in Pro Tools 7, even with the MIDI tracks still active. Hope that helps.
