I'm a Mac 6.4 LE user and I need to send a session to someone who uses M-powered. The song currently has 16 mono/1 stereo audio tracks, an Aux. track, master fader and 15 hidden midi tracks. Will they be able to record a few vocal tracks to this and how many total tracks does one get in MP? Also, do I need to get rid of the midi tracks before sending....will this cause a problem for the other user? They're all hidden and muted. Thanks.

In MP-7.3 you get 32 tracks - actually "voices" - stereo counts for 2. You can run out of tracks pretty quick.

If you don't need the midi tracks at all, inactivate them. Just muting and hiding them won't free up any more of the 32 tracks you're allowed. If you inactivate them, it will. If you inactive them, you'll still have quite a few tracks to work with, you should be fine. Even you start running out of free tracks, start submixing. [/QUOTE] Pro Tools LE/M-Powered lets you run 32 mono/16 stereo tracks, 256 MIDI tracks and 32 Instrument tracks as standard. Aux's and Master tracks do not use voices. Freeing up the MIDI tracks as you suggest in this case will not give you anymore voices for audio....Make sense? So in answer to the original posters question; yes send your session over and it will be fine in Pro Tools 7, even with the MIDI tracks still active. Hope that helps.

Thank you. Yes that does answer my question. I don't know what this "make midi tracks inactive" is all about. I know that midi tracks do not use voices. I was merely refering to the midi setup of the person recieving the files being totally different from mine so I didn't want that to cause some sort of conflict.

I've got all that. Thanks for the help and clarification. I know how to inactivate now.
