Keep Locked Items' Color From Darkening

In Reaper 3, when I lock an item, by clicking on the little lock icon, the item's image darkens. It takes on sort of a muted tone. Is there any way/option to keep this from happening? This behavior never existed in Reaper 2. Thanks in advance!

notice the wave form on the locked item has a faded tone...

Ah ha, I understand - I thought that you meant the background. Anyway, I see it here too and I like it - you can see which are locked even without the Padlock icon: (But I would still like to be able to control the amount of darkening applied when a clip is Muted.)
