I've was wondering if there is a whole lot of latency w/ outboard effects. I've got the standard Digi plugs that come w/ LE but I also have an MPX100 (I think?) and a DBX 266XL compressor/gate... I was thinking about using the DBX w/ some of my tracks and I know that involves sending the signal out and back in and record to another track. (destructive?) But I was wondering about latency. Will the latency of going out and coming back in be bad? Thanks everyone. chris

That is compensated for. I use line i/o inserts all the time. I heard that spdif inserts are 6 samples AHEAD! (Overcompensated for automatically) Anyhow. This is discussed in depth recently . Searching will provide a scientific answe from someone terribly smarter tham me. -BigJ
I see you have a 001 so there is definately latency. At least 55 samples or so to come out and back into the 001. More if you use something like an Octopre or a Digimax and lightpipe. Octopre is about 90 samples for me. All at a sample rate of 44.1. Post some results.
thanks everyone... Yea, I was wanting to "print" the effect so to speak. Bring it back to an Audio track... that way I don't have to keep compressor settings or whatnot. So I'll be nudgeing back I guess Thanks all..
