No effects presets showing up

I am really trying to make Reaper my tool of choice, but none of my VSTs are displaying any presets. I just noticed that the standard plug-ins which are already included with Reaper are also not showing their plug-ins. Can anyone tell me what is wrong and how to fix it? Thanks

What OS are you running? Also, are you running Reaper 23 bit or 64 bit? I just checked my laptop with Reaper 32 and XP on it. All seems fine here. I have a new machine in my home "studio" with Vista 64 but I haven't checked out the presets on plugins yet... D

sorry, I should have supplied that info - i am running win vista 32bit on a laptop with 2g ram, running reaper 32bit.

i have experienced plugins which use the .aupreset format not being able to load or save presets in Reaper. I'm not sure if this is a related issue. OSX10.4
