Intel Application Accelerator with Core 2 Duo processors

In an effort to get my system to run protools more reliably (play button problems, -9073 errors, bounce to disk issues) I've been installing updates and trying to configure my HP dv9000 laptop as per all recommendations. One thing I stumbled on is at sweetwater's tech support page ( under "processors"), where they suggest installing the "Intel Application Accelerator" on dual core systems. However, the readme on intel's download page doesn't mention any of the recent core 2 duo procs and the latest download is dated 2002 (). Has anyone had success using this with their dual core machine? I'm a little hesitant to try it. my chipset is: Detected Chipset: Mobile Intel(R) 945PM Express Chipset Chipset Components Memory Controller: 82945PM I/O Controller: Intel(R) 82801GBM I/O controller hub (ICH7M) processor is: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 CPU T7200 @ 2.00GHz

The "Intel Application Accelerater" is fancy corperate speak for "RAID" which is not supported with Protools.
