The bottom button on the zed fader (green when lit) lets that fadervcontrol the reaper track volume. Turn on that light, go to the actions menu, find the track volume you want to control and select it. Then, click Add on the bottom left of that panel. When the window to assign it comes up move the fader and you'll see it assign that fader to the track. I'm not in front of reaper right now or I could be more specific about the menu options. Thebottom line is yes it does that, but not automatically. Better than my advice, do a Google search for reaper zed r16 Setup and download bbgunn's pdf. It's a great resource.

The faders are just midi controllers, they will move whatever you assign them to move.
