Hi all, I know you all say that there is no such thing a dumb question, but I am here to prove you wrong! For the life of me I can't seem to find the way to simply change a midi track's current output channel to a different channel. Eg. I have a track outputting on ch5 but would like to change that to output on ch6. Thanks a heap in advance for any help or tip and I promise to give myself an uppercut when I realise just how simple a procedure it will be. Cheers, na!

[sad face] you'd think there would be a switch/option somewhere in the i/o section of the tcp, but i'm buggered if i can find it. anyhow, i will continue to search for the plug and report back when ive made any progrss. thanks again mate. how the weather in WA? it's starting to get warm over here in sinny. just filled the esky with a slab of beer and will be firing up the barbie tonight.;p cheers, na e: okay, i found it i think !! tnx again mate. now my even dumber question is now how to utilise this txt file and make it do its magic.....???

You could create a new track containing your MIDI VST instrument. Then from the track with the MIDI data use the I/O button to create a send to the vst track. Select which midi channel (or all channels) to send to your choice of a channel on the vst track. I do this when using Kontakt as my only vst instrument. The first track is just the Kontakt VST. The next 16 tracks are midi tracks, routing channels 1-16 respectively back to the kontakt track. On each of the midi tracks, I can use any channel I want for midi input. When it plays, it sends the midi only to the channel I specified. There are also options in the midi editor for setting the default channel or setting up the default channel for new data. It is also pretty easy to select all data, use the note properties dialog to change existing data to any channel you desire.
