Is there a plug that you can use to measure and correct gain in each channel of a stereo track separately? For example, if you record an album and one side is hotter than the other due to cartridge misalignment, etc., how can you correct each half of the stereo track without separating the tracks? Thanks.

The easiest way that comes to mind is to insert a Waves EQ which allows you to set input AND output seperately for each side if you un-click the "button" that locks L&R together.

Thanks for the suggestions. Before I acquire something, let me ask. Do any of these analyse "find peak" and tell you the peak volume for each channel?

I saw your other thread tonight about mono Audiosuite processing on a stereo track and then came across this one. Forgive me if I'm wrong, this is just an observation. I get the impression you consider splitting a stereo track to be difficult or irreversible in some way. It's actually a snap and personally the way would deal with the gain problem you have here. In the Edit window, create two mono tracks below the stereo track. Using the Grabber tool, select the contents of the stereo track and pull them down into the mono tracks. Done. You now have two mono tracks to work with in seconds. Process the low side/track using the stock Digi Audiosuite Gain plug-in. It has a "Find Peak" feature. When you get the levels right, select both mono tracks with the Grabber and pull them back into the empty stereo track. Ouick and easy.

Any good to you? It's free - use it in multi-mono and unlink the channels.
