Just posted this on the bug tracker forum but wanted to mention it here as well just in case: I've been mixing down a record in Reaper on a Mac Pro running OS X Intel running 10.6.8. Everything was going fine but a few of the channels are muting themselves sporadically. When it happens, "automute" is written vertically on the fader. I unmute the channel over and over and it just goes back to automute again and again. At first it was only happening on one channel; now it's happening on several. It could be some option I'm not using correctly rather than a bug, but I don't know what would cause it to be so random. Any help is appreciated.

'You can Automatically mute any track or only the Master track when a specified dB limit is reached. This option can help protect your ears, your speakers and your sound card!' ReaperUserGuide415C.pdf - page 349 Settings at REAPER Preferences (Ctrl+P) > Audio

Thanks...I had a feeling it was something like that. Is there a way to temporarily disable this option?

yep, preferences/audio - change the 'Automatically mute any track' drop down to 'No automatic muting'.

What level have you got it set to? What levels are you're channels reaching? >
