Hi there, I have a problem playing my Ogm encoded movies on my freshly installed win98se (dx 8.1, wmp 6.4). For some reason it's only playing the audio part of the ogm, the video part not being shown at all. This happens both in zoomplayer and wmp. I have installed the divx 5.02 codec (properly, just encoded a film with it), I have installed the oggds0995 filter and the subtitle filter. I did try to find a setting that would explain this amidst all the filter controls, but so far no good. When playing the system tray icon shows that is playing a video stream and I also tried changing the desktop color depth from 32 bit to 16 bit and back, but still no picture. Audio is playing perfectly, no trouble whatsoever there. Am I missing something obvious ? Please help....
No, i used Gordianknot 0.26 to encode the video with the 5.02 codec, and used headache to encode the audio. Then I used another tool (can't remember exactly, maybe Oggmux ?) to mux them together The files worked fine before i reinstalled my windows, so there has to be a missing file or setting somewhere. The files aren't corrupt.
This is a common problem with DIVX 5.02 and ogg READ THE STICKY!!!!!! above go to the properties of the divx codec and make sure double buffering and smooth playback ARE NOT TICKED it should work after that JEREMY

Smooth playback WAS INDEED the problem ...thanx a lot !! It wasn't mentioned in the stickies however....can't find it at least. Is there a particular reason why it won't work with double buffering or smooth playback? Or is it just a bug ?
It is a bug with the Divx5.02 decoding filter. I have a clip stored in an AVI that will stop about halfway through. The audio will continue to play, but the video will be frozen. Removing the audio doesn't change anything. The freeze will happen in any player. And reencoding the clip in virtualdub using full processing and max settings produces a file with the same problem. But it only occurs when encoding with B frames and when using smooth playback. Given all of this, I don't think it could be anything other than a buggy playback filter.
