Re: Screen size- Running in App versus Basic

Sorry to hear about the camera app issue. I can see how that would be very frustrating. Sounds like a fun and useful app. That said, for me and my grandkids ( and I think school age kids in general), SB remains the simplest, most powerful stand alone app for learning, playing, and experimenting that...

Re: Screen size- Running in App versus Basic

I think it Is a problem with Xcode, not SB. As Mr. K wrote several times, and is easy to see is true, it is the SB code that runs the .txt file. Since it runs properly in SB on my iPad Pro, SB is working correctly. I really think using SB to develop an app through Xcode is like trying to drive a rou...

Re: Screen size- Running in App versus Basic

Thank you both for responding. The screen size by SB is 768 x 980 and it fills the screen when ran through SB. The option to select iPad Pro 12.8 " is available in Xcode, and I selected it. When I build the app on my iPad Pro , it builds and runs fine, but only occupies a portion of the screen. When...

Re: Print a SB source

I like your program solutions for getting a program listing, but thought I would mention another simple way to get your program printed. While in Basic I touch the text and then "select all". I open "Word" (or any similar program) and paste. Then I print it like any other text document. For me, it i...

Re: Screen size- Running in App versus Basic

Yes, Mr. K, I have read in previous posts and love that the SDK really is SmartBasic and everything else is just a shell. It really is puzzling how it can display one way when running code through SmartBasic and another way through the app on same device. The program app does run flawlessly except f...

Screen size- Running in App versus Basic

I have a 12.8 inch iPad Pro running iOS 12 and used Smart Basic to write a program. The program runs great and uses the full screen. I followed the steps and successfully created an app using Xcode, but have one problem. When I run the app, the program only uses about 2/3 of the screen. The app runs...

App build with Smart Basic and Swift?

I have written a turn based game using Smart Basic that requires the iPad to be handed from player to player for each player to take their turn. It was written as a "proof of concept" for the game idea. I am satisfied with the game play, but it will never fly as a "pass the ipad" game. Now I would l...
