Might as well clean up the "input" right click context menu and get rid of the record and monitor options.., no need to have them listed in both menus. What would be really nice as well is if there were an option on the dialog window that appears when right clicking the volume slider that would allow switching the controls to MIDI controls. :D
Thanks! Haven't checked yet but I hope we will be able to assign it on a per track or fx basis like we can with midi. This will be very useful for quickly switching assignments :)
ps. the quantize panel (now under the input context) is an excellent example of how to make an important set of functions difficult to find and use. It should be a non modal dialog/panel more like the nudge box (as should the snap panel.) I don't use it a lot but the midi filter panel is nice, as far as how multi function panels/windows/boxes should behave re: opening and closing.
Re: recording / input monitoring menus: I think it is still unintuitive to set up, especially for novice users. My typical use case after starting up REAPER: create a track, insert a VST/AU instrument on it, select a MIDI input (Input: MIDI), and switch 'Monitor Input' on: nothing happens when playing the keyboard connected to the MIDI input. I still have to press a "Record Armed" button even while I have no intention at all of recording anything. So, for input monitoring to work properly, I have to figure out I should go elsewhere, namely Record Arming, and switch it on while setting it up *not* to record anything. Imho, the labeling is completely misleading in this case, and the workflow is convoluted. Just having switched on Monitor Input should have sufficed to hear the plugin instrument being played from the selected MIDI input.
YEEEEEEEY!!!! I managed to make the OSC work!!! double yeeeeey. I just don't understand how to configure sends, Messages I receive via listen window are: /1/fader1 Where first number is TAB number. So how do I configure sends ? TRACK_SEND_VOLUME /track/send/@/volume /track/@/send/@/volume /2/sendlevel/@ /2/send@@ /3/sendlevel@ I want to make adjustable sends for first track, and as I see in the example it is possible And request for devs, can you implement TRACK RECEIVES too(for headphone mix track)
