I am in the process of acquiring a fine digi 001 with host computer. In the threads on this forum I got convinced of hosting it on an Apple, G4. I can now buy one G4, "old, previous, early" (that was the salesperson talking) model with 350 MHZ for over $1500 less than a "new, real" G4 with 450 MHZ. What is wisdom? I do not have all the money I want. Is $1500 worth the jump? thanx...

I have a new G4/400 and it kicks ass! For 1595.00 you can get one at MacZone w/ 128MB RAM Free! Call 800-248-0800 x3226. Ask for Hutch, he'll take care of you. Just tell him I sent you. It's worth the 1500.00! Marvin

I would just buy the cheapest new mac, with no options at all (I got the modem though..). Try for a good price/service. Don't worry about a second HD until you see you need it (I've never needed one, and I've been doing 24 tracks). Then get some ram (a 256Megs is good...). try for price. to ask for vendors reputation. Good luck!
