It's rare for a company to develop 2 different version for the same soft. I know that cockos is not a company like others ( hopefully ). But i'am asking myself if team had diferent point of view and decide to split work. I hope not. I am alone to think this.

It's not rare at all - most companies will have a current build and at least one or two versions of the next build. How else can they progress?

There was a post from Justin (was gonna quote it but don't have time to look now), that basically stated that... 1) Since it looks like the "NEW" release will take a bit longer, and will probably be Ver 3 and... 2) That some fixes for 2.53 should be available for current users without having to pay for the next version license (for those who are good til 2.99), there would be an intermediate release. So no Cockos has not split, and no they're not like most companies. (****EDIT**** Not meant to Counterpoint aMUSEd - meant to apply to Cockos in general.) They seem to have a (non-monetary based) Code of Ethics, they conscientiously adhere to.

I personally work for a company that has 10's of different release trains..hard..but it is sometimes needed to accomodate customer needs. Yves

All these buyout rumors are just going to drive up the stock price. One of you is an AOL agent.
