I know that Media Player Classic can play rm files if RealOne is installed, but uses the codecs installed by RealOne. Now that the dll files for the codec are available seperately, it should be possible to just install the necessary ones, and playback in MPC without having to install RealOne at all, right? Which files do I need, and where do I put them (in \system32 ?)?

Ok, cheers. Small problem however: Media Player Classic crashes if I try to seek an rmvb file (RV9). Is this a known bug? Any way to get around this?

I have only tested a few movie trailers in rv9 and my older rm encodings. If you can, upload a little of the crashing file to my ftp. Is mpc crashing with both renderes?
Yup, it's crashing with both renderers (which one is recommended in genereal by the way, I assime the system default is overlay)? How can I cut a chunk out of the file to upload it to you?
Guess what? It works with your renderer. I thought you were talking about wether to use overlay or VMR. It seeks fine now. Thanks very much for the great program, it's saved me having to install RealOne, so I'm happy. Oh, and I'm flattered your 666th post was a reply to me!
Yup, that is a little strange. There shouldn'e really be any weird behaviour on my machine as it's a completely clean install of win2k (I reinstalled it yesterday because I sold my OS hard disk). A little question about the codecs. Are the ones you posted the link to legit ones from the stuff Real have released, or are they reverse-engineered from RealOne? Also, how come they're so big?
This codec pack was not made by me, but I think it just contains the copy of those plugin directories which realone would install normally. The size is so big because real has codecs for most encoding types which can be muxed into a real media format, also if one was missing realone would automatically download the needed dll from their site.
