in cubase, every time you add a new track, it is a different random color...does reaper have this feature or do you have to change every tracks color on your own?
There's probably an easier way, but I would create a custom action that: - adds a new track - sets this track to a random color And then I would remap the default shortcut for inserting a new track (CTRL-T) to my newly created custom action. Can't test it because I'm not at my studio PC, but I'm pretty positive that this would work.
This is a feature that alot of us would like to see as standard without having to create a macro. For instance this maco will not help you if you already have 30 tracks that have not been assigned custom colors. This seems like an easy feature for cockos to implement and one that all the other daws already have.
when i go set track color to random color, all that changes is the color of the midi notes inside....is there a way to change the surrounding box around it? how do you get the tracks to be different colors like in the screenshot of reaper on the home page? just through preferences?
sweet thanks^....but my colors are off from the ones i choose...like i'll choose a blue and it comes out purple...also where the track names goes, a rectangle appears of the color i chose...in the screenshot, that rectangle isnt there...any idea how to get rid of it?
on the screenshot, the colors seem dark...like the blue and red seem dark and solid...mine are really light and seem tinted...is there some other option i need to choose?
You could also edit your right click options menu to include a "create new tracks with random colours" and have this assigned to the first macro that was suggested at the top. Reaper is all about DIY ;)
