Hi! I'm new here. I want to change my DAW from Cubase LE to Reaper, now I'm testing it for a week, and have trouble with sync Reaper with MPC 1000. Here is the problem: Reaper is the master: Preferences - Midi devices - output - Delta AP - Midi + Clock (low latency) MPC 1000 is the slave - mode -pad9 - f2 - Sync In Slave - MIDI clock - MMC ON. Generaly it's working only first time when I press Play in Reaper, then something wrong is going on. MPC is delayed, even when not playing, only changing position of cursor in Reaper, when I press: 5.1.00 (fifth measure, beat one) MPC shows: 4.4.72 (always 0.0.24 less), so I can not use it as a slave now. I tried also this option: Insert - MTC Time code generator, but it's not working, I chanded midi clock to MTC at the MPC, still not working. I would appreciate any help. System: Windows 7 64 bit, newest Reaper x64, MPC 1000 with JJ.OS 1 (v. 4.99), Delta Audiophile 2496 sound card for MIDI connection. Thanks. Adam
hey, welcome - from a search and from memory, i had to mess with an mpc a while back. at least then it seemed having the mpc as slave led to more issues than the other way round, but folk do use it. i had reaper as slave and worked well - see this thread :
Hi :) unfortunately this is a "Unconfirmed" Bug!!! :( i have made a report here ( ) (please add any useful info you have to that thread!! :) ) for some reason this only has 11 votes to confirm it & still has a Status of "Unconfirmed" its not only MPC's that suffer from this!! :( Subz
I know you're trying to use the MPC as slave as stated in you're post, but if you are up for trying a different way, may I suggest using the MPC as master, and Reaper as slave. I have been testing different configurations on my system. I have an MPC2500 (jjos) in sync with Reaper. MPC is master, and Reaper is slave. It is working beautifully this way for me. I always tried to get the MPC to master over Sonar and it never worked as good. So I would always have Sonar master. I guess that's one of the reasons I'm so exited about using the MPC with my new Reaper DAW. If you wanted to try it this way and needed any help with settings let me know and I will tell you how my setup is configured.
Thank you. So it realy makes the Reaper useless since I worked with MPC beats. Working with MPC as a master is not comfortable, so I will stay with Cubase LE till this stupid bug will be corrected. What a pity, because except that Reaper look as a good DAW system for me. Cubase don't have problems with midi clock, it works perfect.
I have not used the MPC's midi clock as long as I've had the JJOS, I've been syncing solely with MTC. So I can not comment on midi clock with Reaper. After doing some reading up on midi clock, MPC, and Reaper, it seems this is a valid bug that needs to be addressed though. It's good this issue is being brought to attention. Not all has gone south.
I check it out: MPC as the master works fine. We all have this problem can report and describe it here : thanks for this link^. I made there screenshot with WAV recorded with MPC as the master , and with REAPER as the master in this report. Difference is 1/16 note (always here). Everyone who seen this disadvantage could vote there. I hope they will fix it soon ;)
