How to post video on the forum?

Can anyone tell me how to post video, I tried Jing but for some reason I can't install Windows Framework 3 on my box so it don't work. I would like to use Camstudio, with it's own lossless codec, it saves to .avi which doesn't seem to be supported on the forum. I noticed some vids on here were using the [img ] gif [/ img] type of tags but I don't seem able to save as gif. Obviously I can make them into downloads but i want to do some video screen caps in forum posts - how do you do that then?

among other things "IrfanView was the first Windows graphic viewer WORLDWIDE with Multiple (animated) GIF support." I got camtasia 3 for free, but I just found out they had taken down the offer. Irfanview looks pretty cool and it's free

I've got irfanview Politcat, I've been using it for years, but it doesn't capture video, or does it? I thought I might be able to capture .avi with Camstudio and convert it to animated gif with Irfan view but I can't see any way to do it. Can you actually do this, and if you can could please let me know how.

Bump Lot's of people have posted short video tutorials on this forum, I can't work out how to it, I can capture video alright in .avi but the forum doesn't seem to support it, so could someone that knows how please put me out of my misery
