Hello, Are you running Waves plug-ins in the session? There is a known issue with version 4.0 causing noise bursts. If you are using Waves plug-ins contact them for an update to 4.0 that will resolve this. Mike

I dont have waves plugins, infact all I have are the digi plugins. I'm new to osx, is there anything I can do like deleting PT preferences or anything else. Thank you.

Do you have any aux tracks that might have their inputs set to a live mic or anything? Since it's happening when playback is stopped, I'd check that out as the status of your input monitor may be hiding the problem while in playback.

Thank for the tips, so far I dont get any feedback, the weird thing is that the feedbacks occured only on sessions with plugins on (any plugin, I don't have Waves), when I disconected the plugins the feedback would go away. anyway I will check to see that I dont have any routing probleme. any other suggestions....
