Hi, my headunit has what appears to be an infrared reciever on it its a 1997 v40 with a 6 disk changer anyone know if a remote control was available, thanks.

VADIS don't list a part No for a remote, so I'm guessing no. The little red light on the left is an anti-theft light, or are you referring to the little black sensor above the dolby button on the right?

My 97 V70 had a remote control for the radio/cassette/CD. It was a Volvo accessory from the parts catalogue at the time.
