I took this idea and did a mock-up. It should be relatively easy to program and gives a good musical overview. No real notation, but how important would that be if we could have something like this. What do you think?
--------------------- Cosmos Black 96 M3 Lux - 70,000 miles put on by me 04 645 - 16,000 miles put on by me, lease expired 04 S4 convertible - 8,000 miles driven, lease expired next... xbrace, intake, zkw with dde, uuc tranny mounts Hardwired V1, highly recomended
Don't get me wrong.... EVERYBODY here wants Reaper to have every function of the big $1,000 programs for $60. But as an EX-programmer, I still take heavy blood pressure medication because marketing people and non-programming execs would come to me with projects the size of Microsoft Office and say, "this won't take you very long... you just have to push a few buttons. Right?" ;-)
Inline notation is a very natural way of thinking, so you have my +1 (if possible, with "normal" music notation. Many people say it is very difficult to add this to Reaper, but if we say "notation" not "engraving", this starts to look easier, no ?
I actually dont mind that "half pianoroll - half staff" view in the OP. Something like that would be great for some of my students who are poor at reading real music notation, but can read a midi pianoroll quite well. This would help the transition massively .... it could become quite popular because of this ... we all know guitarists who play and program very well but cannot read at all.
