from ext. mixer into PT= altered sound?

PK, I was assuming that your synth had midi out and that you could hook direct into the midi in on Digi instead of coming from the mixer. Allen

I go straight from my synth into Digi, and there is no variation. What I hear going in, comes out the same. My setup is probably simpler than yours though, pk. I have mikes(1&2), Midi(3&4), Guitars(5&6), Misc. tape machines, or whatever(7&8). Many times, I'm glad my setup is so simple. That may not help answer your question, but I don't think it's anything Digi...don't think it would matter to plug into 1&2. I would think that anytime you go through an external mixer, that there WILL be variations to tweak... But, that's not a technical answer, just a gut feeling. roy

pk, check the input gain levels for ch 3/4. i'm sure you've done this, but if not, this might affect the sound.

Pk, once you've got the signal chain cleaned up and getting a s/n ratio then don't forget to use all the good stuff to fatten up the sound. Usually the midi sounds I get in don't sound the same after the addition of some compression, eq, and other treatment.
