I searched for the answer to this but no luck. I recently upgraded to WinXP and PT 5.3.1. Everything is working fine now, but I don't have an 001 Midi driver anymore. In Win98, sound forge and logic had "digidesign MIDI out" as a MIDI output. Now only PT sees the 001 MIDI ports. Do you have to install this driver seperately in WinXP? Shouldn't it be installed when the 001 is recognized by windows? thanks

Does anybody know why the midi port might not be installed?? Is there a different way to install it in WinXP??

Hello, I tried that and still no MIDI driver in any audio apps. Also, I get an error message when I try to open "game controllers" in the control panel. The error reads: rundll32.exe- application error the instructions at"0x77f52cd0" referenced memory at "0x00000080". The memory could not be "written." Unistalling and reinstalling doesn't seem to help.

Same here. Pretty much none of my 9x or XP compatible MIDI programs can see or use the Digi 001 MIDI port. But... An old program, Voyetra Digital Orchestrator Pro, CAN see and use the Digi 001 MIDI port. This was a Win3.x program that happens to work in 9x and XP. Go figure! Mike

After waiting 3 days I got a non-answer from digi tech support. They said make sure the program you're using is compatible with DirectI/O. (Thanks already know that) I explained in the message that I had the MIDI driver working in WIn98SE, but now logic cannot see the driver. Others are having this problem too, I guess it looks like you cannot use the MIDI portion of the 001 with anything other than PT under WinXP. A significant downgrade for my set up. Extremely dissapointing.
