Is there a way to delete everything within a time selection without affecting things around it? The only option I can find is the one which moves everything back after the selection

Let's try making a macro: * Item: Split item(s) at time selection * Track: Select all tracks * Item: Select all items in selected tracks in current time selection * Track: Unselect all tracks * Item: Remove selected items Name it "Remove contents of time selection (without moving later items)", or "Clear contents of time selection". It works :) Don't you just love Reaper macros?
--------------------- Benz forums have shown me that there really are stupid people AND stupid questions.
Weird. I tried adding * Envelope: Select all points in time selection * Envelope: Delete all selected points but it doesn't work. Cockos? These two actions WORK when pressing "Run", but not when in a macro? Why? Added a post in prerelease section, I hope this will be corrected before 3.131 hits the streets.
I know, its weird, the "remove contents of time selection (moving later items)" action works fine, but it doesn't seem possible to make one which doesn't move later items
Envelope: Select all points in time selection * Envelope: Delete all selected points these only work on one envelope, not all envelopes at once. They will only work if you select an envelope first, and only on that envelope.
Damn. That is useless with macros then. We need an action to select and deselect all (hidden and visible) envelopes then, and a refinement of "select all points in time selection" and "delete all points in time selection" into two new actions "select all points on all envelopes in time selection", ditto for "delete".
Already edited the post in pre-release section. I hope schwa will see it :) On the other hand, maybe ReaScripts could help here, but I'm not that good with programming. Try asking semiquaver or someone who knows their Python. This should definitely be possible with that.
