our volvo v70 2.5 auto has now clocked up 140,000 and i'm wondering if its worth changing the bushes when i change the shocks?? i wont wanna harden the ride up, or make the car more noisy, so what would be best??

at 140k the original bushes will be past their past for sure, so rather then get uprated bushes just get the standard spec bushes that wont increase any noise or stiffness. my 2p.:) EDIT> in answer to the thread title, yes it would be worth doing.
As mentioned above, genuine OE replacement bushes are what you require. Suspension/steering bushes etc, don't really last that long, and even after quite a few miles, they may physically appear to look in tact but they will have split/perished inside causing problems that are only really noticeable when the vehicle is on the move with the full forces acting upon them. As a general rule of thumb, I usually aim to replace the bushes and suspension top mounts every 50,000miles.
