addjust a project beat and measures to match with an audio track

lets says i have a complete 3 minutes drum track in a stereo wave file. i want to open it in reaper and then compose the rest of the song in midi. i need the beats and mesures reference. what can i do??

u can tap the tempo of the drumloop. (bpm-indicator) or do it with rightclicking the timeline and use createtempomarker-(detect tempo). u have to set a loop for this one. for measurements use "schwa audiostatistics" as plugin. within reaper (js-plugins).

finally it was so easy. the drum track was generated in FL studio and i had the initial project file along with the wave. so i opened it with fl studio just to see the bpm, then set it in reaper and everything magically fell into place. thanks for your tips and techniques. it will serve me in the the future.
