Minimum brake disc thickness

Does anyone know the minimum brake disc thickness for the fronts of a 04 diesel. Mine look pretty ropey. Cheers Cliff

Minimum thickness for front discs are 25 mm . If they are above 25.8 mm you can replace just pads ,

Thanks for that, don't suppose anyone also knows what the minimum thickness is when a main dealer sells a car under the Volvo used car scheme? I was told by several different salesman that there are different minimum thicknesses when a car is prepared for sale under this scheme. Thanks again. Cliff

the volvo recommendations above don't change for brake disc thickness worries , if they are below 25 mm they must be replaced if they are above 25.8mm new pads can be fitted .. Pad thickness criteria is 5 mm for the selected used car check .

Cheers, so just a bit of salesman bull that they change them at a slightly less worn state.

they probably meant the pads rather than discs , MOT states 2 mm min pad thickness , Volvo used car check 5 mm best to change them around there or the pads overheat when hard braking ..
