Every time I insert a "MIDI Item", then insert notes in the editor, my note-inserting-capability stops dead at these (pic attached) markers. I've looked through the manual 3 times (as well as the forum) and can't seem to find out what these things are, and more important - how to move them or get rid of them. My apologies if this question has appeared before, but I don't know what else to do and it's driving me nuts. Thanks for the help! ZoD

Yeah, one of the aspects I dislike in Reaper is that once you draw a MIDI container it cannot be simply resized, you have to glue it to itself and than you are able to put data there. It's impossible to resize it to left also, which is annoyance at best.

Hi ZoD, no need to apologize! :) Probably you recorded a part that had originally the length up to these notches. If you have "Loop Item" turned on they show the beginning of a new loop repetition, if not they show just the end of your original recording. Nevertheless you can change the length of the item by dragging the right edge of it to the right (and thats supposably what you did - errm, maybe you did somthing else). Select the item and by right-clicking choose "Glue selected items" from the menu and the notch will be gone. If you now grab the right edge of the "glued" item and pull it right, you will see, that the little notch is there where the end of the item was before, which means, if you need an even longer item and are not sure about, how long it should be in the end, you can repeat choosing "Glue selected items" from the menu. HTH Edit: Oh Eric thanks, you were faster. :) -Data

You guys are great! And thanks so much for your (usual) speedy response. I know it's just a "little" thing, but it makes a big difference - especially when I've grown accustomed to everything being so easy with Reaper... Best of the holidays to both of you! :) ZoD
